yes, NH requires you to have  a boating certificate, I got mine thru the USCG Power Squadrun , they have several courses thru out the year, or Cabela's offers a course almost every weekend

Mossboss Thanks I also received mine through the power squad. I went through the course quite a few years back when the states talked that they may introduce it in Ma but was not clear when it came to NH…Thanks for the confirmation

I took a class over the winter a few years ago in Conn. It was an 8 hour class over a few weeks.  By taking the class, the boater certificate earned can be used in any state.  Some of the on line certificated are not accepted in New Hampshire.

Thanks Dave Good info.

The Class I had went to from the USCG Power Squadron back in 1990 was also a classroom setting. The best option would be to check with the State page on what is accepted prior to sitting through a course would make sense. I was asked the cert question recently and was not sure of the answer what I did find was anything under 25 hp does not need a cert.

most of the states require that the test be proctored, very few states will accept online courses
