I went fishing with my buddy Bill today, what an adventure. Because of the icy roads this morning we didn't leave home until just after 9. When we showed up at the Louie B ramp we found the launch froze in…an inch and a half of ice at the edge going all the way across and as far as the end of the fishing pier. We figured the other ramp would be the same because its located in a cove as well. So we went for it… the trailer stayed on top of the ice for about four feet then broke threw the ice. I used the power trim up and down motion with the motor in reverse to break out about 20 ft. Without the trim the ice held the boat like a wall. With Bill on board we stayed close to shore switching between forward and neutral breaking the ice out to open water about 75 yards away. What a couple of jerks! Fishing is a very bad addiction. Bill told me the marker light on the right side of the trailer broke off and both brake lights were popped out dangling by the wires and their mounting locations were bent. The license plate was folded in half like a taco. Anyway… we covered a lot of water and ended up with 6 fish. 1 was probably 4#, 2 were 3#, the other 3 were a pound, pound and a half. We fished 10:45-3:00. I've had worse days. Gonna do it again tomorrow!

Sean

I wish I was there, if I would of known you wanted to bust up your trailer I would have suggested our farm pond. maybe next time we could use the bucket loader and a strp that way it will save your trailer lol ps I may have a set of lights in the garage if you need some ps post up some pics

Thanks

Hey day 2 0n Congamuck pretty good…I went out again Tuesday December 15th and wow was launching the boat easier. The ice I had broken up on the 14th stayed off shore and the launch area had quite a bit more water than the previous day. Fishing success was about the same (6 fish in about 4 hrs.) except for this trip yielded a piggy.  I took a picture and will try and post it.  I fear this will be the last trip for a while.
