Steve and I made it out on Otis today in search of some nice smallies. The morning bite was a little slow to start. We fished the shallows and the stump field and picked up a few smaller large mouth. We ran to the other end and started to fish the main lake this is when the wind started to kick in. Steve boated a few smaller SM along with a nice Brown trout on a senko, yes a senko. I was able to boat a handful of keepers on the main section as well. We ran to a few different spots and ended up picking up a nice 5.4 to end the day. As we fished I noticed a bunch of beds that were occupied by pumpkin seeds, I did not see any sm or lm on the beds. Steve and I discussed the lack of bedded fish and can only assume there will be another batch moving up?. All in all great day on the water. (plus I was able to mow the lawn and take the family out for Ice cream!)
