fished the oxbow section of the river with Sean for quite a few hours today had a blast but did not catch anything. We tried all of the hotspots but nothing would bite for us. All in all still a great time to be out in this weather. Hopefully will have a few pics after tomorrow's outing…..Cool

Nice to hear you at least got out there in Jan and gave it a try. I don't think this weather will last much longer but I'm enjoying it.

After this past wknd you are not missing much slow or non existing (bass) bite was had for most guys I talked with. We went to Congamond on Sunday and after chasing deep water bait for 4 hours we decided we had enough and choose a Hot dd Coffee sounded better lol My highlight of the day was watching Sean pull in the extra large Shell in thinking it was a nice one…I think his hands were numb…he did win the challenge by catching 3 shells to my one.

Keith and I got out Saturday.  We went to the Housatonic river down in Conn. for Stripers.  The bite was tough for us, but we ended up catching 7.  There was over 25 boats out there and some guys were throwing Alabama rigs and they were catching them pretty good.  We saw one Guy in a kayak throwing an umbrella rig so big it looked like a Chandelier.  He would let the line out paddle with his foot control for about 50 feet and catch one.  One time he went by us and caught two on one cast.   It was pretty cool…  It was a nice day and it felt good having something pulling in January.
