hard to say.  my first thought was a monster cabezon near 15lbs.  They don't usually make dives like that though, especially repetative dives like I experienced.  The next thought was a 20# lingcod.  The winter spawn is here, and that would have made for a great female.  I think a coworker called it best though – it could have been a Wolf Eel.

Thanks for the callout! I was thinking the same thing on tuesday…

Fishing has been dead slow.  Spring has barely sprung, and fishing has been pretty lame because of that.  Things should hopefully turn around this month. I hope. Everything can't feel a month behind for the whole year… right??

 

I have made a couple trips that were OK. I'll see what I can get together for a couple reports

We have had the same here many of our spring trips have been testing our aproach instead of catching. We just started to come into our own at Lake Champlain but I think it was the location oinstead of our aproach.
