20 # 40 in. Stripah caught 5 ft. off shore in the flats in Groton Ct. on chunk Bunker.

Thanks. I'll tell ya, I was lucky to land that cow. Was fishing with my buddy and we kept getting our chunk bunker chewed up by the crabs, couldn't keep the bait on the hook. I reeled in one time and had pretty much  nothing but bunker skin left on the hook (crabs picked it clean).  My buddy looked at me as I threaded pretty much nothing but skin back on the hook and said " You ain't gonna use that flimsy piece of skin with no meat on it are ya?" I said yup, and thats what this striper hit. We're still laughing about my dumb luck! That's fishing for ya! Were hoping to start hunting Stripers in the next couple of weeks up here in the river before we end up in late spring back in the sound. I've drive an old Alumacraft and  just recently pulled the trigger on the new Lowrance HDS 7 fishfinder/GPS Chartplotter system with the LSS Structure scan and Downscan. Damn near doubled the value (or at least the expense) of the boat. So were hoping to run into many more of these big mama's this season.
