I am wondering if anyone would be willing to share their favorite local fishing spot in the summer months?

For me… (and I am not sure many would agree… BUT) I really enjoy being out on the Connecticut river in the Hadley Massachusetts area.. good fishing and fun boating… Reply to this post with your favorite spot!

How about favorite fishing spots without a boat?  Best places to bring a kid?

best places to bring a kid would be many spots in and near the oxbow section of the Conn. river, Congamound Lakes also has a pier for shore fishing, most lake and rivers in MA/CT/NH/VT will have area @ the public boat ramps for shore fishermen, what works best for me is to grab a few rods, snacks- do not forget the kid, then head out for a day of fun.

good luck

Western Mass Shore fishing Spots

Otis Lake Otis Ma- Many good shore spots all different areas and dephs, plus I think the small marina near camp overflow may rent small boats

Onota and Poontusic Lakes Pittsfield area both great shore access near launches

(Stop @ Daves bait and tackle for latest hotspots, live bait etc, see DJ great guy with a ton of info in his back pocket)

Stockbridge Bowl limited shore but may be worth a try also very scenic area

Hoostonic River many great spots (I have never fished this but have been told some great fish come out of this river) also may want to check the ma state page for restrictions prior to fishing

Have fun and please post up your results

Thanks
