I had the oppurtunity to fish this fun inexpensive tournament with a good friend from work. We started our day in search of a few keepers and a kicker. I set my friend Steve up with the ol tried and true Senko while I worked the Jig. We worked a few deeper shore lines with a bunch of fish attacking his senko unfortunately they only measured 11.5 inches. I switched the jig out for a 3" green pumpkin tube and picked up my share of 11 inches. I had a feeling we where heading in the wrong direction so made a few moves but kept on coming up with the same results. I suspect the cold front and the blue bird skies did not help our hunt. We made our last move to the deepest edge I knew I then traded out my tube for a Brush Hog. We did pick up a few more fish but could not locate the 12.000000001 inch fish. The winners located 5 keepers for a total weight of 7 plus  pounds, now get this this included a 5.6? pound lunker so this leaves the balance of four fish to weighing less than 2 pounds. This info was second hand from another angler that watched the weigh in. I am still glad we made it out  due to the great time we had catching up with some old fishing friends. Even with our dismal results I am looking forward to fishing the event again next year. I enjoy the comradery as much as landing some quality fish.
