my bro belongs to this club and asked me to join him. 7-3…8 fish….rt 5 launch….i know….madhouse!

it was already muggy/hot at 6:30am

no water moving so we decided to stay in the bow. most of the 14 boats hit the river early for smallies but with no water moving it was slim pickens as was indicated by the lunker smallie – 2.2bs. some guys went way north and weighed in 8 smallies but not much weight on them.

did i mention it was hot?

we started with buzzers and cranks – i boated a 3 right away but that was it for the topwater bite. slowed it down with worms and jigs in the grass and that was the ticket for us. pounded some docks for a while with minimal success. back to the grass for the duration. boated a bunch of small pike and one that went around 10lbs. man do they stink in the heat of summer! 

started culling around 11. bro got a nice 4.75lb largie and that was the lunker and enough to put us in 1st for braggin rights, on my birthday no less!!

the e.hampton r&g club was nice enough to let us have the weigh in at their place, thank you! didnt have to deal with the clusterf*** at the ramp during the weigh in. sat around for an hour, drank beer and taked with the pres of the club, nice guy, great place. thinking about a membership at this club. guys that left right after the weigh in were still in the water at the ramp when we rolled up…..unbeleivable!

i got home to a lobster dinner – how appropriate….i was the same color…did i mention it was hot?

not a huge bag at 16.36….but it was enough by 3lbs – all largies

thanx….i thought for sure it would be around 20lbs for 8 fish. did a t with my bro last year at bartons and ended up with 22lbs for 8 fish.  im new to touny fishing, but my bro has been doing it for a while. i end up playing net boy most of the time!
